Published on Published
Some dates repeat every month and some follow your fiscal year. Here they are in one place, with a note on which ones depend on your own account.

This calendar covers the recurring dates for a BC business with staff, a corporation, or both. Check each one against your own notices and accounts, because reporting periods differ from business to business.
Dates that repeat
| What | When it is due | Who it applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Payroll remittance | 15th of the following month | Regular remitters |
| Payroll remittance | 15th of the month after each quarter: 15 April, 15 July, 15 October, 15 January | Quarterly remitters, which need a low average monthly withholding and a clean record |
| Payroll remittance | More often than monthly, on dates the CRA sets for your threshold | Accelerated remitters, which are larger employers |
| PST return and payment | Last day of the month following the reporting period | Every PST registrant, whether monthly, quarterly or annual |
| GST/HST return and payment | One month after the end of the reporting period | Monthly and quarterly filers |
| Record of employment (ROE) | Within 5 calendar days after the pay period in which earnings stop | Employers, when an employee stops being paid |
The CRA moves larger employers to a faster schedule as their average monthly withholding grows, and it tells you which schedule applies to you in your notices. When a due date falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day.
Dates through the year
| When | What is due |
|---|---|
| January | WorkSafeBC emails the date for your Annual Payroll Report. Update payroll software for the new year’s CPP and EI figures. |
| Last day of February | T4 summaries and slips, and T5 slips for dividends, for the previous calendar year. T4A is generally the same date, so check the CRA page for the boxes you use. |
| March 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 | WorkSafeBC Annual Payroll Report and payment. WorkSafeBC assigns which of the five dates is yours. |
| 31 March | BC Employer Health Tax return and payment for the previous year, for employers registered for the tax |
| 30 April | Balance owing on a personal or sole proprietor return |
| 15 June | Sole proprietor and partnership return, if the business has income |
| 6 months after year end | Corporation T2 return. The tax owing is due after 2 months, or 3 for a small CCPC that qualifies. |
| 2 months after the anniversary of incorporation | BC annual report for a company |
The T2 and BC annual report dates follow your corporation’s own calendar. A June 30 year end, for example, moves the T2 filing to December 31, but the BC annual report follows the anniversary of incorporation, not the fiscal year.
Setting the calendar up
When are T4s due?
The last day of February after the calendar year. T5 slips have the same date, and T4A is generally the same, so check the CRA page for the boxes you use.
When are payroll remittances due?
For regular remitters, by the 15th of the following month. Quarterly remitters pay by the 15th of the month after each quarter. Your CRA account shows which type you are.
When is the BC PST return due?
On or before the last day of the month following the end of the reporting period. For a period ending June 30, that is July 31.
When is the BC Employer Health Tax return due?
March 31 of the following year, for an employer that is registered for the tax. If the date falls on a weekend or BC holiday, it moves to the next business day.
When is the WorkSafeBC annual payroll report due?
On one of March 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11. WorkSafeBC assigns your date and emails you in January.
When is the BC annual report due?
Within two months of the anniversary of the company’s incorporation. A company that misses it is no longer in good standing.
